French Onion Chicken

French Onion Chicken is not your ordinary chicken dish! Juicy chicken thighs smothered in a rich gravy full of caramelized onions and topped with gooey cheese.

This dish is definitely loaded with everything you love about French onion soup, but made in an easy one pot recipe that is sure to quickly become a family favorite!

Ingredients

Step 1

In a large oven-safe skillet over medium high heat, melt butter and add onions.

Add olive oil to pan over medium heat. Season chicken with salt and pepper and place in hot pan.

Step 2

Add onions back to pan and deglaze pan with white wine and beef broth. Add chicken back to pan and allow chicken to cook through and the sauce has been reduced by half.

Step 3

While chicken is in pan, preheat oven to 375. Top chicken with cheeses and place in heated oven for 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
