Ginger Molasses Cookies

Ginger Molasses Cookies are a classic Christmastime cookie.  Loaded with the traditional warm holiday flavors of cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and molasses these soft-baked cookies are like gingerbread but in a hand-held cookie form!

Ingredients

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.  In large bowl, combine butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in egg and molasses and beat until mixed.

Using a flour sifter, sift flour, salt, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves into the butter mixture.  Using a spatula mix to combine. Chill dough for 15-20 minutes.

Step 2

Using a medium sized cookie scoop, scoop cookie dough into balls. 

Step 3

Bake 8-10 minutes, until golden brown. Allow cookies to cool on cookie sheet for at least 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack. Cool completely before moving on to step 5.
