Ingredients

  • 8 oz block of cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz tub of frozen whipped topping thawed at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 21 ounces strawberry pie filling
  • 2 cups prepared shortcake cut into 1” cubes
  • 10 ounce bag of mini marshmallows

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the block of cream cheese and powdered sugar. Using an electric hand mixer, mix until fully blended.
  • Add in whipped topping and vanilla. Blend together until smooth.
  • Add in the strawberry pie filling, shortcake pieces and mini marshmallows. Using a rubber spatula, mix until all ingredients are evenly suspended inside the mixture.
  • Chill for 30 minutes before serving.
  • Garnish with additional mini marshmallows, shortcake pieces, whipping topping and strawberries.

Notes

  • Be sure to cut off any dark edges on your cake before cubing and folding into the mixture.
  • Feeling adventurous? You can make your own pie filling using fresh strawberries… an especially good idea during strawberry season when that strawberry flavor is optimal. Just make sure that your homemade pie filling is room temperature when you’re ready to combine.
  • Make sure that all ingredients (cream cheese, homemade pie filling if making, and whipped topping) are at room temperature before combining.
  • After you’ve finished making this strawberry shortcake fluff, be sure to cover tightly with plastic wrap before chilling and serving.
  • You could also use instant strawberry pudding mix instead of powdered sugar or the other substitutions for even more strawberry flavor.
