Ingredients
⅓
cup
soy sauce
2
tablespoons
white distilled vinegar
2
tablespoons
vegetable oil
3
cloves
garlic
minced
3
tablespoons
honey
2
tablespoons
tahini
1-2
teaspoons
chili sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and whisk to combine.
Heat over medium-low heat until honey melts and flavors come together.
Store in airtight container in refrigerator until ready to use.
Notes
You can use Hoisin sauce for any Asian recipe you are putting together that has a sweet and spicy flavor combination, as well as on its own.
Make a double batch and share with neighbors and family!
Traditional hoisin sauce doesn but I don't put Chinese five-spice powder in mine but if you like the flavor feel free to add a pinch or two.
If you need a hoisin sauce substitute, try soybean paste or BBQ molasses.
