Favorite Sweet Treats
I have a serious sweet tooth and am always looking for something to nibble on after dinner. I love these no bake butterscotch cookies, this cornflake candy, and the chocolate peanut butter cookies. What is your favorite candy to snack on?
Ingredients Needed
Almond bark – I prefer to use Baker’s Corner Almond Bark but feel free to use any brand that you can find at the store. Substitute baking white chocolate or white candy melts.
Peanuts – Use your favorite brand of salted dry roasted peanuts. Substitute cocktail peanuts or mixed nuts. Be sure to remove any loose skins.
Semi-sweet chocolate chips – Semi-sweet baking chips are best. Substitute dark chocolate or milk chocolate if you like.
Butterscotch chips – If you do not like the taste of butterscotch, feel free to use chocolate chips instead. You can also use peanut butter chips or cinnamon flavored chips for a new flavor twist.
German chocolate bar – German chocolate bars are in the baking aisle but if you can’t find them, use bittersweet chocolate.
Peanut butter – Creamy peanut butter is best for this recipe. Avoid “natural” nut butters as they will not mix well. You can use the chunky style peanut butter if you prefer more texture.

How to make Crockpot Peanut Clusters
First: Place all of the ingredients into a slow cooker or crock pot. Place on high and allow mixture to sit for 1 hour. I know you will want to touch it but don’t:)
Second: After the hour is up, stir mixture together. Be sure you get all the way to the bottom and around the edges.
Third: Continue to cook for another hour, stirring every 15-20 minutes so it doesn’t burn.
Once everything is completely melted and cooked, using a tablespoon or ice cream scoop, place 2-3 tablespoon sized dollops onto a large piece of parchment paper.
Fourth: Allow candies to completely cool at room temperature for at least 1 hour or until hardened. Store in an airtight container or wrap in festive wrapping and give as an edible gift!

How long do they last?
If you don’t eat them all in one sitting, store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Can I freeze them?
Once completely cooled, store in a freezer safe bag up to 1 month. When ready to eat, thaw in the refrigerator.
Do not thaw at room temperature otherwise condensation will form.
Does almond bark contain nuts?
No, contrary to its name, almond bark doesn’t actually contain almonds or nuts of any kind.
It’s actually a vanilla flavored candy coating, commonly used to coat nuts and other candies.
Tips for No Leftovers
- Be sure to stir the mixture every 15-20 minutes once everything starts to melt otherwise it can burn against the edges of the crockpot if left too long. Be sure to get the edges and the bottom.
- If the mixtures does scorch slightly on the edges of the crockpot, scrap down, and stir into the mixture. Doing this will not changes the flavor of the candy.
- If the entire batch scorches in the crockpot, try mixing everything together and test. If the candy tastes burns, I would recommend starting over.
- I recommend portioning out 2-3 tablespoons, either with spoons or a cookie scoop, for each cluster but feel free to make as small or large as you like.
- Omit Peanut butter completely without effecting the candy.
- Scoop into cupcake liners for easier serving.
- Sprinkle with sea salt for even more sweet and salty flavor!
- Biscoff butter is a nice substitution if you prefer the buttery, brown sugar, spice flavor of this cookie butter instead of peanut butter.
- Cook time my vary slightly with older slow cooker or higher powered models.

Crockpot Peanut Clusters
Ingredients
- 2 ½ pounds white almond bark
- 2 pounds dry roasted peanuts
- 12 ounces semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 4 ounces German chocolate bar
- 3 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
Instructions
- Place all of the ingredients into a 6 quart slow cooker or crock pot. Turn to high heat and let the mixture melt together, untouched for 1 hour.
- After the hour is up, use a wooden spoon or heat safe silicone spatula to stir the mixture together. Be sure to go all the way to the bottom of the pot and the corners.
- Continue cooking and melting the mixture together for 1 more hour, stirring every 15-20 minutes so that the mixture does not burn.
- Once the mixture has cooked together, spoon the mixture into 2-3 tablespoon sized dollops onto a large piece of parchment paper or in cupcake liners.
- Let the candies set at room temperature for at least 1 hour or until hardened.
- Crockpot candy may be stored in an airtight container or baggie at room temp for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Be sure to stir the mixture every 15-20 minutes as once everything starts melting, it will burn against the sides of the pan if left too long.
- If at any point the mixture does scorch slightly on the sides of the pan, stir it in, it will not make a difference in flavor. The keyword here is slightly. If the entire sides of the pan are scorched, you can mix everything together and test the flavor but you may have to start over.
- I recommend 2-3 Tbs sized dollops for the candy size, however, you can make them as large or as small as large as you prefer.
